FAQs PMU

Is Permanent Makeup a tattoo?

With the sudden popularity and media attention to the term microblading, many are led to falsely believe microblading is not a tattoo process. THIS IS FALSE! Permanent cosmetics, "semi-permanent” makeup, micropigmentation, dermal implantation, microblading/microstroking, eyebrow embroidery, and long-time/long-lasting makeup, are all different names for the same procedure – cosmetic tattooing. Any time pigment is placed into the skin with any device, it is indeed a tattoo process. This is defined by many well informed regulators, the medical community, and dictionary sources. Denying this process is a tattoo can be problematic for those who would, for religious or other personal reasons, normally refuse to have a tattoo.

Who is permanent makeup for?

Both men and women who want to effortlessly and naturally look their best anytime.

Do my existing eyebrows need to be shaved off for microblading?

Most definitely NOT! Please do not tweeze, thread, wax or modify your eyebrows in any way for as long as possible before your appointment. This will allow for your artist to custom a brow design that blends in with your natural hair growth. Your initial microblading service includes a brief consultation, followed by facial measurements, and a custom brow design outline for you to preview and approve. Any hair growth that falls outside of the design you choose may or may not be removed according to your preference. Your regular brow maintenance of tweezing, threading, waxing may continue once the brows have healed.

Does permanent makeup hurt?

The discomfort is relative as everyone has a different level of sensitivity. Anesthetic is applied before the procedure. Every effort is made to ensure you remain comfortable for the duration of the procedure. Our clients are usually pleased to discover that it is no more painful than tweezing or threading! With any tattoo mild discomfort and slight swelling should be anticipated.

PMU Pre-Care Instructions are designed and MUST BE STRICTLY FOLLOWED to limit bleeding and sensitivity during the service. Excessing bleeding and sensitivity during the procedure will dilute and expel the pigment color, leading to poor results.

* Having this service performed during your menstrual cycle may increase discomfort during your procedure.

* If you are a frequent smoker or "sun worshipper" anesthetics used during the treatment may not last as long and also can lead to poor retention and poor lasting results.

* If you have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, be aware that this may affect your sensitivity tolerance to the procedure.

How long is the PMU healing process?

It is normal to experience minimal swelling and tenderness immediately following your procedure. This usually subsides within a a couple days. The first few days following your procedure, the pigment will appear much darker than how it will appear once it has healed. Around the 1st or 2nd week post procedure, the skin naturally exfoliates and regenerates. During this time, the pigment may appear “foggy” and difficult to see. Around week 4, when the skin completes healing, you will see the pigment become more visible.

How old do I have to be to get PMU or Tattoo?

You must be 18 years or older to receive PMU or Tattoo at Vixens Ink and Beauty.

Can I get PMU or a tattoo if I am pregnant or nursing?

As a precaution, we DO NOT perform cosmetic tattooing or tattooing on pregnant or nursing women.

How long does PMU last?

PMU is a permanent procedure. However, the pigment will significantly fade over time and we recommend scheduling an Annual Touch-Up with your artist to keep your PMU looking their best.

Frequency of touch-ups depends on a number of factors including: skin type and tone, pigment selection, lifestyle (sun exposure, smoking, etc), your overall health, as well as use of acidic and/or brightening skincare products and skincare services.

Please note that final results can not be guaranteed as each unique skin type will hold pigments differently and break down at different rates. We will re-evaluate how your skin has received the pigment at your touch-up appointment and make any changes necessary.

How many PMU treatments are needed?

PMU is a multiple- step appointment process. You will NOT be complete after just one service. At least two appointments are needed initially. Each of these appointments being 8-12 weeks apart. At your Perfection Appointment we will assess the pigment retention and make any adjustments necessary. Everyone heals differently and at different rates. If your cosmetic tattoo does not heal perfectly the first time, do not worry! We can always go bolder and add more density at your next appointment. :)

What factors will affect how my PMU/Tattoo looks?

Excessive bleeding during the tattooing procedure will reduce the amount of pigment absorption.

Alcohol, certain medications and vitamins, or any other blood-thinners should avoided prior to your appointment. For a full list of what to avoid before and after your appointment click here.

Sun exposure: The sun will extremely soften the look of your tattoo, and may also change the color appearance of the pigment. A physical sunscreen should be used once your pms is fully heal to prolong your enhancement. Whenever possible, we encourage our clients to wear hats to protect their beautiful brows (and skin too)!

The choice of pigment color: Some colors may fade quicker than others, e.g. a blonde pigment may fade quicker than a dark brunette pigment.

Lifestyle: smokers, "sun worshippers", or anyone with skin that is in a state of distress (rosacea, acne, etc.) may have less desirable results.

If you are iron deficient/anemic, your pigment will fade sooner and bleeding or bruising may occur during and after the procedure.

What should I do before my PMU/Tattoo procedure?

If you have an ideal shape and color in mind, please bring a couple reference photos with you to your appointment. You may fill in your eyebrows, lips as you normally would so we may take into consideration the shape you feel most comfortable with. If you regularly get your eyebrows shaped, waxed, threaded or tinted, please refrain from doing so within at least one week of your appointment. If there are any stray hairs that fall outside of our final shape, we promise to remove them.

  • If you plan to go on a vacation, it is recommended to plan your trip a minimum of 30 days after the procedure.

  • We require our clients to avoid any blood thinners for a minimum of 48 hours prior to their appointment. This includes Vitamin E, Aspirin, Niacin, fish oil supplements, and Ibuprofen. For full list click here.

  • Do NOT drink any alcohol or caffeine 48 hours prior to your appointment. (Yes, that includes decaf coffee, teas, and kombucha!)

  • NO Botox for 2 months prior to microblading (We recommend that it's best to wait until after your Complimentary Enhancement Session heals to get Botox, as an educated injector will take your new brows into consideration when choosing where to inject.)

  • If you have been on prescription Accutane in the past, you MUST wait at least one full year (12 months minimum) before considering this procedure. Doxycycline users are also encouraged to wait up to 6 months before receiving PMU.

  • Please avoid SUN and TANNING BED exposure for 30 days BEFORE and AFTER your procedure. If you arrive for your appointment with a freshly tanned or a sunburned skin, you will need to reschedule and will forfeit your deposit. As your skin regenerates from a sunburn, it will take the pigment with it. Sun exposure can also cause excessive bleeding and sensitivity leading to pool healed results.

How will I look immediately after PMU?

The area will appear darker and more intense than expected for the first few days or so. This will gradually lighten during the healing process. Slight redness and swelling is expected. You do not need to go into hiding, however! ;)

What should I do before and after my PMU procedure?

Please review our detailed Pre & Post Care Instructions. You MUST strictly follow these instructions to ensure a comfortable, safe healing process and also to achieve the best possible results! We have the right to refuse service for any clients who do not follow Pre & Post Care Instructions.

How will my PMU look in the future?

During your appointment, we will analyze your skin tone to anticipate how pigment colors will heal and fade in the future. We will also mix pigments to ensure the color blends well with your natural hair and skin color. There are some cases, however, where the color may fade to different tones according to the individual’s response to the pigments (like lifestyle and iron deficiencies). Many factors affect these changes. At your follow up appointment, we will re-analyze how your body has responded to the initial color. If needed, special formula alterations to correct the color is made at this time. Your pms tattoo will eventually look softer and have more of a "powdered" look. To keep your pms looking their best, a refresher appointment is suggested every 12 months. Results and preferences vary with each client.

What should I know about long-term care?

  • The pigment color will change and fade over time. We recommend an annual touch up to keep your brows looking their best. Fading greatly depends on your skin type, lifestyle, sun exposure, pigment color used, broken capillaries, iron deficiency, and if any any aggressive skincare products or services were completed after your procedure.

  • When using acidic or brightening skincare products or services (chemical peels, Retin-A, salicylic acid, glycolic acid, etc.) please fully cover your brow tattoo with Vaseline, prior to product application on your skin.

  • If you are planning to have an MRI, please inform the technician that you have had an cosmetic tattoo.

  • If you are planning to have laser treatments, you must fully cover your brow tattoo with 20% zinc oxide. Laser may cause pigment prematurely fade or change color.

Will Microblading work well for me?

If you have extremely oily skin, microblading may NOT work well for you. The constant production of oil will cause the hairstrokes to heal with a diffused, softer look. Your end result will look more powdered instead of a crisp hair stroke appearance. You may be a better fit for an “Ombre Powder Brow”.

If you still not sure if you are a good candidate for Microblading, feel free to schedule a Complimentary Consult.

Do you perform men’s PMU?

YES! We are happy to accommodate consultations for men interested in any of our procedures.

FAQs Tattoo

How do I book an appointment?

You can message our studio page or the artist directly or we can have them call you next time they are in/available.

Do you require a deposit and how much is it?

Yes, deposits are required to book an appointment. Deposits vary on the tattoo. $50 min deposit is required to hold the date you wish to book.

How soon can I get an appointment?

It varies month to month, and depending on the artist, We post availability our FB/IG stories or pages when an opening pops up. It’s best to message to find out what is still open.

Do you take walk-ins?

At this time, we are by appointment only. However, you can always keep an eye out for walk in days on our business pages.

Can my friend come with me? Can my kids come with me?

The studio asks that clients limit their guests to one person. We ask that kids have a sitter for your appointment, please check out Ms Nikki’s Noodle Studio next door for your children

Can I bring my pet in for my appointment?

Unfortunately we cannot have animals in the building, unless your dog is a PROFESSIONALLY trained service animal that will listen to the commands and can stay still, and sit on the floor. We ask to be given notice so we can make accommodations for your appointment.

Will you tattoo a minor?

No, it’s important to us that our clients make informed decisions about their tattoos and are able to follow aftercare.

Can I still get a tattoo if I have psoriasis?

Yes and no, psoriasis is an inflammatory reaction to trauma on the body. Tattoos count as trauma. You cannot get a tattoo directly on an area that has it. However, you may be able to get one in an area that is farther away from the “break out” areas. It’s best to see a doctor first and make sure you are not at risk of having a flare up.

Can I still get a tattoo if I have Vitiligo?

This condition can cause new patches to form from tattoos since tattoos cause trauma to the skin. We recommend you see a doctor first to make sure it’s not active. If you are cleared it’s best to get one as far away from the area as possible and keep in mind that it’s still possible for a new patch to form. It’s best to start small.

Can I still get a tattoo if I have Eczema?

Yes! However, we still recommend seeing a doctor first before making an appointment since there are still risks if your eczema is currently active when you get a tattoo.

Can I still get a tattoo if I have Diabetes?

It’s best to stay away from below the waist line when it comes to getting tattoos as a diabetic since poor circulation can be an issue. It’s best to see a doctor beforehand to make sure your A1C levels are “controlled”.

Can I still get a tattoo if I have Poison Ivy, Ringworm, etc?

No, not only are you putting the artist at risk, but also yourself. When you have poison ivy for example, the oils in the plant have been released into your skin and bloodstream. Which means for example if you have the rash on your leg and get a tattoo on your arm it can make things worse. Please take proper care of yourself by seeing a doctor and making sure it’s cleared up before coming in for an appointment.

Can you tattoo over my mole?

No, tattoos must be done around these.
1. They must be kept visible for Doctors, if they change they need to be able to view your mold and run test on it.
2. They do not absorb ink the same way that skin does since they are clusters of melanin in the skin.

Can I get a tattoo if I’m on antibiotics or steroids?

It is not recommended to get a tattoo while on steroids/antibiotics, since they can slow down the healing time.

Can I get a tattoo while pregnant, breastfeeding, post partum?

Pregnant: No, you cannot get a tattoo while pregnant. This can put the child at risk since a tattoo puts stress on the body. This can not only affect the healing, but the child as well. It can also put the child at risk if you are to get an infection.

Breastfeeding: This is a decision for you and your doctor. If your doctor has cleared you, then you’re good to go. However, keep in mind if you are to get an infection it can affect the child as well.

Post Partum: If you have been cleared to get a tattoo by a doctor, you’re fine. However, your body changes not only during your pregnancy, but after as well. The skin has been stretched and needs time to repair. This can affect the healing by the tattoo becoming distorted and even the process itself. Generally it’s recommended to wait at least 9-12 months.

How much for “___” tattoo?

Each artist is going to have their own minimum and hourly rate. Even if it’s a “small” tattoo the style you are wanting can make a difference in the amount of time it takes.

How do I get a quote?

If you message our artists, they will go over their pricing with you.

Will you tattoo my face, hands, or neck?

These tattoos can ruin job opportunities for some people. This is a decision that is up to the artist on whether or not they will do this for you. To find out, you will need to speak to them directly.

Can I workout with a brand new tattoo?

As long as you are not causing strain and sweating on the area that has fresh ink, you’re fine. For example, if your thigh has recently had work done to it skip leg day for at least 48 hours. Adding too much onto a healing tattoo can affect the way it heals.

Why can’t I go tanning?

A tattoo though it may look cool/pretty, it is an OPEN WOUND. Tanning can fade your tattoo and cause pigment damage. That bright, bold tattoo will fade much faster with tanning. Your fresh wound/tattoo will absorb the UV rays which can break down pigment particles of the ink. Also, think of it this way, laser removal is another version of UV exposure. So why expose it to UV rays while freshly done? It can also darken colors, cause it to blister, etc.

When can I tan again?

It’s recommended to wait at least 4-6 weeks.

Can I use “___” on my tattoo?

Please only use what is directed by your artist. If you are unsure of what products are okay, contact them.

How do I prepare for my appointment?

Days Before Tattoo: Drink plenty of water, get lots of sleep, eat well balanced meals, and practice good skincare. Believe it or not, these things truly do affect your tattoo. Your largest organ is your skin. Your diet and routine effect it, which in turn can affect not only the healing of a tattoo but the process itself. For example, lack of hydration can cause more swelling and excessive bleeding. Poor diet can cause more swelling including high amounts of caffeine. Lack of sleep makes it harder for you to sit through longer sessions and harder for your body to heal itself. Lastly, poor skincare not only effects the tattoo, but it can cause a fresh tattoo to appear more dull and harder for the artist to put the ink in due to the layers of dead skin that have built up. The better your skin is, the easier for the healing and your artist.
Day of Tattoo:Make sure to come in well rested, showered, and eat something at least two hours before. Wear comfortable, but appropriate clothing for the area that will be getting tattooed. Bring something to drink with a lid and feel free to bring yourself some snacks. You may even want to bring a jacket or blanket if you tend to get cold easily. Also make sure to bring a state issued photo ID for paperwork.

What should I wear for the appointment?

Back: a jacket that zips up, bikini top, bra, or a bandeau.

Arms: T-shirt, tank top, long sleeve shirt is fine.

Lower Legs: Pants that roll up easily, shorts, capris, skirts, dresses, etc.

Upper Thigh, Hip, Etc: Shorts that roll up, skirts, dresses, bikini bottoms, underwear, etc

Stomach: Shirts/Crop tops that can be rolled up, bikini tops, bandeau, etc.

Chest/Sternum: Bikini top depending on area, pasties are available if you’re comfortable with it, a zip up jacket/top, etc.

NO LIGHT COLORS OR WHITE IF NEAR AREA!

If you are unsure if what you plan to wear will work, feel free to message your artist before your appointment. Wear only what you feel comfortable wearing, do not put yourself in a position outside of your comfort zone. If you have certain accommodations that need to be made, let your artist know ahead of time so they can do their best to help make sure you’re fully comfortable for your appointment.

FAQs Areola Tattooing

What is areola tattooing?

This is the placement of pigment beneath the epidermis of the skin in the areola area, otherwise known as tattooing or micropigmentation.

Will the needle puncture my implant?

No, the needle only goes into the dermis which is just 3 layers into the skin.

Will I be able to go back to normal activity after this procedure?

There is no down time with this procedure and you should be able to resume your normal activities. However, there are a few restrictions: No vigorous exercise for the first 24 hours and no soaking in any bathtubs, swimming pools or jacuzzi’s for a least 7 days after.

Will I need another appointment?

This process is usually complete in 2 appointment. However, in some cases, you may require an additional touch up depending on your individual healing process. Your follow up will be 8 weeks or after.

How to choose your areola color and size?

When you meet your artist, they will work with you to determine color and size by first drawing impermanently on the area. Once the color and size is agreed upon, the artist will create dimension with color and shading, giving you a realistic nipple and areola. When the procedure is finished you will be amazed with the results!

Will I have pain during the procedure?

No. 95% of the time there is no pain in the reconstructed breast, for the other 5% we will apply a topical anesthetic so there is little to no pain.

What to expect?

The day of the procedure you will want to wear a comfortable bra and bring any photos of your breast prior to surgery, if you have them (not needed).

What to do pre-procedure?

Thinking ahead, there are a few things to do prior to your Mastectomy that will help with your areola nipple tattooing procedure.

• Take before pictures
• Think about your areola color and write it down
• Note the size are your breast and areola

Is there anything I can do with the scarring on my breast?

This is something that may be camouflaged depending on what your scars look like. This process works best for hypopigmentated scars (lighter in color than surrounding skin)

Scar Serum Treatments (Ink-less Camouflage) vs Scar Camouflage Tattoo?

What is the difference between scar serum treatment and scar camouflage tattooing? Both treatments aim to transform the visibility of scars, but they work differently. Consulting with a professional, skilled in both techniques, allows the artist to determine which approach is best for each clients scarring. Allowing them to create a treatment program that is cost effective and produces results.

The primary difference between both treatments is simple: Ink vs Serum:

  • Scar Serum Treatment combines an inkless tattoo machine and an advance serum that is beneficial to the skin. The machine places the serum deeper into the skin, allowing it to soften and smooth the scar.

  • Scar Camouflage tattooing applies pigments to match the surrounding skin, disguising the scar’s appearance.

WHEN I TAN, WHAT WILL HAPPEN? WHAT IF I ALREADY HAVE A TAN?

Untreated stretch marks or scars become more noticeable when you tan because of the increased contrast between the tanned skin and the white stretch marks. Stretch marks become less noticeable when you tan after having the stretch mark camouflage applied. Stretch marks may become slightly more noticeable if you overtan by more than 6 shades, but they’ll return as soon as the tan starts to fade.
The stretch marks will merge flawlessly with your natural skin tone once your tan has faded if you wait until it has done so. When the tan fades and the skin returns to its natural lighter shade, matching stretch marks to sun-tanned skin will make you look like a tiger. Please plan your session 4 weeks after sun exposure.

CAN I GET THE TREATMENT WHILE BREASTFEEDING OR PREGNANT?

Unfortunately, you can't if you’re pregnant or lactating because your safety and the protection of your child are my top priorities.

FAQs Facials

How often should I get facials?

Monthly facials are recommended to help aid in the cell turn over process which happens approximately every 30 days. As we age, this cell turn over process slows down, contributing to dull sallow looking skin, fine lines, wrinkles, blackheads, congestion, and coarsely textured skin. Monthly facials assist your body in doing more efficiently what it is”supposed” to do on its own.

What can I expect during a facial treatment?

When you arrive, you will be asked to fill out a consultation form. Most facials consist of a double cleanse with steam, exfoliation, extractions with a skin analysis, facial and upper body massage, facial mask, and hydration. Depending on the facial and your skincare history, the exfoliation performed will vary. Depending on the facial, a peel may be applied, and mask depending on your skins needs. All facials are uniquely customized to target your specific skin care needs. Please see the Menu for more information on these add-ons and specific facials offered.

Will my skin be red or irritated after my facial?

Slight redness is normal after a facial, especially if you’ve received any sort of chemical exfoliant such as a Glycolic or a Alpha Hydroxy Acid, or received a large amount of extractions. Slight irritation may be experienced during these instances, however it should not continue long after your facial treatment has been completed. Certain skin types, including those who tend to be more sensitive, may be prone to experiencing more redness post treatment.

How can I maintain professional skin care results at home on a daily basis?

To maximize result of your facial it important to follow your Esti’s home skin care routine. Vixen’s Ink and Beauty sells Dermodality skincare products available for purchase.

Can I receive a facial waxing such as an eyebrow or lip wax on the same day as my facial?

We do not recommend waxing an area and then getting a Facial.

Do men get facials too?

Absolutely! Facials are very beneficial for men too, and can help reduce skin sensitivity from shaving as well as other concerns from lack of proper at home skincare. If you do suffer from sensitivity after shaving, it is recommended that you do not shave immediately before your facial, as this can lead to further irritation.

SHOULD I HAVE A FACIAL SERVICE IF I'M PREGNANT?

Yes. Facials during pregnancy are especially important during pregnancy for many reasons. Your skin can be reflective of the hormonal changes occurring within your body and having regular services can help alleviate some of the symptoms( i.e. breakout, increased redness and sensitivity) when your usual products may be off-limits. Facials can also be a wonderful relaxation tool which can keep your blood pressure at a healthy level.

SHOULD I HAVE A FACIAL IF I HAVE SENSITIVE SKIN?

Yes. Our skincare line is formulated for sensitive skin, we even have a line to use on those with Rosacea.
There are many factors involved in sensitive skin and sometimes a facial service can help determine through diagnosis what you can do at home to both offer relief for you current state as well as prevent your condition from worsening.

FAQs Waxing

HOW LONG SHOULD MY HAIR BE BEFORE WAXING?

For optimal results, at least a quarter of an inch long. Allowing the wax to grip the hair effectively makes the removal process smooth and efficient. We also recommend that clients wait at least two weeks before waxing if they’ve shaved.

IS WAXING PAINFUL?

Pain tolerance tends to vary from person to person. However, most describe waxing as a quick and very tolerable experience. Choosing an experienced waxing professional and a premium waxing product, like Starpil, minimizes potential discomfort

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I GET WAXED?

Generally, waxing is recommended every 4 - 6 weeks, depending on your hair growth cycle. Consistent waxing can lead to finer and sparser hair regrowth over time. What should I do to prepare for a waxing session?

Exfoliate the area 24 - 48 hours before your appointment to remove dead skin cells, prevent ingrown hairs, and properly prep the skin for service. Avoid applying oils on the day of your wax as it can interfere with the wax adhesion. We also recommend hydrating your skin prior to your service to assist with the prevention of ingrown and hair breakage

IS WAXING SAFE FOR ALL SKIN TYPES?

Waxing is safe for all skin types, but individuals with sensitive skin can opt for a hypoallergenic wax! Always inform your waxing professional of any skin conditions or allergies before your session

CAN I WAX DURING MY MENSTRUAL CYCLE?

Absolutely! You just need to use a tampon, cup, or disc to receive the service. You may be more sensitive while getting waxed on your period, so be sure to take an ibuprofen about 30 minutes before your service. If you're not comfortable with getting waxed while on your period, all you have to do is reschedule with your waxer! Some women find waxing uncomfortable during menstruation due to heightened sensitivity so be sure to communicate your preferences with your waxing technician.

WILL WAXING CAUSE INGROWN HAIRS?

While there is a risk of ingrown hairs with any hair removal method, proper exfoliation before and after waxing helps minimize it. Regular exfoliation promotes healthy, glowy skin and reduces the likelihood of ingrown hairs! It’s also important to note that dehydrated and dry skin can cause hair to become brittle, making it more prone to breakage when waxed. This in turn results in ingrown hairs and bacteria growth that leads to acne. That’s why it’s so important to hydrate your skin daily!

CAN I WAX IF I'M PREGNANT?

Waxing is considered safe during pregnancy, but some may experience heightened sensitivity. It’s essential to inform your waxing professional about your pregnancy for a comfortable experience.

HOW DO I SOOTHE MY SKIN POST-WAXING?

After your session, we always recommend post-wax care. Avoiding working out, saunas, steam, tight clothing, and sexual activity for at least 24 hours after your wax is proven to prevent irritation.

FAQs Fibroblast

What is Fibroblast?

It is a Revolutionary treatment and beauty game changer!!! Fibroblast-Skin tightening treatment is NON-invasive or NON-surgical procedure where no scalpels or any surgical instruments are used.

Fibroblast is basically an electrical arc that is transmitted through a small probe.

This innovative technique cannot cause the so-called “overlifting”, as it only affects excess/loose skin which returns to its “original state”. The procedure can be carried out only by a certified specialist.

How does it work?

The Skin-Tightening treatment uses electric arch that is transmitted through a small probe. Tissues treated “sublimate” and we avoid spreading unwanted heat to the surrounding areas. The principle is to ionize gases in the air to create a small electrical arch, similar to a tiny lightning bolt, with which dermal and epidermal areas, which are affected by aesthetic problems, may be treated without spreading unwanted heat to the surrounding areas. When the electrical arch – touches the skin surface, the heat widens the acne and is

transferred into the epidermis all the way to the papillary layer which contains fibroblast cells. The result is contraction and tightening of the skin cells. Consequently, the excess skin is reduced and the result is comparable to lifting or wrinkle reduction.

How long does the treatment take?

First, the topical anesthetic (cream) is applied, minimizing the risk of pain and numbing the treated area.

The anesthetic takes effect 30-60 minutes after the application. The procedure itself does not take long, 30-60 minutes depending on the area. The duration of the treatment (with anesthetic application): 90-120 minutes.

Is any special pre-treatment needed?

There is no special pre-treatment needed. It is advisable that you do not apply any cosmetic products on the treated area (especially those containing alcohol). During the consultation you should mention all recent surgical or aesthetic procedures.

Is the procedure painful?

Fibroblast Skin-Tightening is a non-invasive procedure with minimal level of pain. It is virtually painless, as the treated area is numbed before the treatment. After the treatment the treated area is red (7–14 days) and some patients may experience some swelling, which may last up to 3–4 days. At the site of each spot a small crust will form. They should not be touched and you should wait for 4–5 days for them to fall off naturally. During the procedure the clients may feel some discomfort, not actual pain, depending on the treated area of the face/body.

Is this treatment right for me?

With the help of Fibroblast Skin-Tightening instrument it is possible to treat various skin problems (acne), achieve the “lifting effect” of the loose skin or correct or remove scars. If you suffer from any of the above mentioned and do not want to go through a traditional surgical procedure, PRIVÉ Fibroblast Skin-Tightening is right solution for you.

Is the treatment safe?

The treatment is very safe, as it is a non-surgical procedure. It has a negligible amount of possible side effects and serious complications alike. The procedure is based on the natural stimulation of skin regeneration, so the excesses which may be seen in the world of traditional surgery are not possible. The Skin-Tightening treatment takes a very short time, with stress on the aftercare, as, in case the client neglects the instructions for aftercare, the treated area may suffer from: inflammation, hyper-pigmentation, scarring.

Are there any possible side effects of the treatment?

The Skin-Tightening treatment is an exceptionally safe procedure with virtually no side effects or they occur very rarely. Possible side effects are inflammation, scarring or minor change in skin pigmentation, which is very rare. It is highly important for each client to follow the instructions for aftercare closely. Crusts which occur after the treatment are part of the treatment and will fall off after 4–5 days. Minor swelling after treating the area around the eyes is normal and will disappear after 3–5 days, depending on the client’s sensitivity.

Aftercare

PRIVÉ Academy proudly presents you the new after care collection. Collection consists of three healing-based creams, that are used for after care of FIBROBLAST SKIN-TIGHTENING treatments. It is very important that we treat our skin well after any cosmetic treatment, so we not only get great results, but we protect ourselves from any complications. All three creams are based on mild ingredients and can also be used for other skin difficulties.

  • Do not pick carbon crust; it will fall off in a few days

  • After the treatment continue applying the aftercare cream on the treated area as long as it is sensitive or when you are exposed to sun, as it contains SPF and protects the treated area.

  • Avoid sauna, pools, solariums or any kind of exposure to activities which present risk for infection of the treated area

  • Make sure to protect the treated area from direct sun until the skin is completely regenerated (2–3 weeks).

  • Do not apply products containing alcohol or other scents.

  • Do not cover with plasters or covers.

May I use makeup after the treatment?

Do not use makeup after the treatment, as it generally is not sterile. First 5–6 days after the treatment, until the crusts fall off, use the antiseptic product and the aftercare cream, applying it softly to the treated area. When the crusts fall off, you may apply some makeup if necessary, as the cream the therapist gives you contains skin powder which covers the crusts and the blush.

Are the results visible immediately after the treatment?

The results are visible immediately after the treatment, but we have to inform the client that the maximum results will be visible after 3–4 weeks when the skin enters the third phase of the healing – collagen and connective tissue growth. So, results are visible immediately, but the end results follow after 3–4 weeks after the treatment.

How many treatments are required for a perfect result?

Usually Fibroblast is 2 sessions treatment. It depends on the state of the clients’ skin and the desired degree of correction. The client is often satisfied after only one treatment, of course if, e.g. the wrinkles are not very deep, but due to the simplicity of the procedure and the affordable price the clients opt for two or even three treatments to achieve a perfect result. The procedure may be repeated after the skin is fully regenerated. Generally 2 sessions are required.

How long will the effect of the this treatment last?

The results of the Skin-Tightening treatment are permanent and may be visible for years. But we should acknowledge that the aging process is continuous and thus the skin ages every day after the procedure and this cannot be stopped. The results of this method are permanent, but when we talk about mimic facial lines (worry lines) these may recur quickly because muscles are stronger than the skin and consequently the lines recur.

FAQs Bio-Needling & MicroNeedling

What is Micro-needling?

Micro-needling (also known as Collagen Induction Therapy or CIT) allows for a controlled process of the skin’s self-repair mechanism by creating micro “injuries” in the skin, which triggers new collagen production. Micro-needling is utilized to treat the appearance of fine lines, acne scars, minor trauma scars, hypo/hyperpigmentation, and improving the skin’s overall appearance. To enhance results, micro-needling may be combined with the use of PRP, topical gels, creams, and/or serums to further aid in the overall appearance of the skin

How long does an appointment for Micro-needling take?

Micro-needling treatment can take an hour-and-a-half, or more to complete. The exact time depends on the area that is being treated. This timeframe includes an additional 30 minutes for topical numbing to be applied prior to treatment.

How is Micro-needling administered?

Micro-Needling procedures are performed in a safe and precise manner with the use of a sterile micropen needle head and handheld micropen skin needling system. The micropen is gently pressed into the skin, with serum and glides across the its’ surface to induce new collagen and elastin.

Does Micro-needling hurt?

While micro-needling can sound rather daunting, the needles that we use during the procedure are microscopic. The treatment can cause discomfort and has been said to feel like a vibrating cats tongue. Areas with deeper imperfections may cause more discomfort than areas with superficial imperfections. We ensure that our patients are comfortable throughout the entire procedure. A topical numbing agent is applied 30 minutes prior to Micro-needling to aid any discomfort during the procedure.

When will I begin to see results from my micro-needling treatment?

Generally, patients notice tightening, and a more even tone to their skin, a week or two after their first session. For areas with deeper imperfections, results can be subtler, and additional treatments are usually required. Since Micro-needling stimulates new collagen and elastin production, these results will continue to build for up to 6 months

How long do results from Micro-needling results last?

It is important to realize that we cannot stop the aging process, we can only slow it down. With this in mind, results are not considered permanent, as natural degradation will occur over time. Improvements from micro-needling can be seen for several years after treatment, and results can be prolonged with the correct at home skincare maintenance.

What areas can I treat with Micro-needling?

Micro-needling can essentially be used on any part of the body. The most popular areas to treat are the face, neck, and chest. Micro-needling can also be effective on most types of scarring and stretch marks.

Is there any downtime a Micro-needling session?

There is technically no downtime required after Micro-needling. After your treatment, your skin may be red. This is normal and to be expected. Redness usually lasts from one to 24 hours. You may also have a little swelling in some areas. A few days after your treatment your skin may become dry. Some patients go straight back to work, while others prefer to schedule their treatment over the weekend.

Are there any side effects or possible risks to Micro-needling?

Micro-needling is considered a safe treatment for all skin types. The side effects associated with micro-needling are temporary swelling and redness.

Who is NOT a candidate for Micro-needling?

During your consultation an assessment will be made to ensure that you are a candidate for Micro-needling. Micro-needling may not be safe for those with certain health problems.

What is Bio Microneedling?

Bio Microneedling is an advanced skincare treatment that utilizes microneedles derived from natural sources to stimulate the skin’s natural healing processes. This technique enhances skin texture, reduces fine lines, and promotes a rejuvenated complexion without the need for invasive procedures.

The treatment involves using bio-microneedles to create microchannels in the skin. These microchannels stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, key components in skin repair and renewal. The process not only encourages skin regeneration but also enhances the absorption of topical skincare products.

During the treatment, the microneedles will be gently applied to your skin, creating microchannels that stimulate the skin’s natural healing processes. You may experience slight discomfort, but most clients find the procedure to be tolerable. The treatment is typically followed by the application of soothing products to calm the skin.

The number of treatments required depends on your individual skin goals and the specific concerns being addressed. Generally, a series of treatments is recommended for optimal results, but visible improvements can often be seen after just one session.

Results can vary depending on your skin type and the specific concerns being treated. However, many clients notice an improvement in their skin’s texture and appearance within a few days after the first session. Full results are typically achieved after a series of treatments.
There is minimal downtime with SQT Bio Microneedling. You may experience some redness or sensitivity immediately following the procedure, but this typically subsides within a few hours to a day. You can resume your regular activities shortly after the treatment.

What's the difference between classic, volume, and hybrid lash extensions?

There are so many different types of lash extensions now! Let’s break them down for you. Let’s start with classic. Classic eyelashes are simple, beautiful, and natural looking. This classic look is achieved by applying one extension to one natural lash. Now volume lash extensions give you a completely different look: drama, glamour, luxurious. Lash technicians create volume lashes by attaching fans of extensions to one natural lash. These fans can hold anywhere from 2 extensions to 20 depending on the look. But that’s not all the looks. There is hybrid which is a mix of these volume fans and classic lashes. This hybrid look gives, well, a mix of the natural and dramatic for those who like the in between.
